Study in the School of Lakeshore Ballet Theatre is for beginning, intermediate and advanced students, ages 6 to 18 years old. Admission is by assessment only, so that we can place students in the correct level for their age and talent.
Applicants are evaluated as follows:
First and most importantly LBT School looks at each applicant as an individual. We are not a competition studio and encourage dancers & their families to focus on their own technique and growth rather than focus on others. This is the best method for advancement in the art.
Our school is selective in admitting new students and renewing their enrollment from year to year. Applicants must be young enough to derive the maximum benefit from their training, enjoy excellent health, have a coordinated body, a passion for classical dance & theatre and the desire & dedication to grow educationally as a dancer and performer.
*Children must be 6-years-old by September 1 to audition and enroll for that year’s FALL Term. We do have open enrollment all year round, however, students entering after middle of the semester may have to take some additional private lessons. We also accept teen beginner dancers with no prior dance experience. They will be placed in a beginner teen ballet with students their same age.
