Foundations & Corporations committed to nurturing talented young people, bringing back the history of Classical Dance and sustaining the passion of cultural life in Lorain and Cuyahoga Counties, as well as surrounding areas can provide gifts and grants that support the School of Lakeshore Ballet Theatre’s distinguished artistic programs. Foundations, Corporations and individual donors can choose to direct their contributions to specific projects, described below.
Scholarship Program, Lakeshore Ballet Theatre provides financial aid to more than half of our student body to ensure that all talented students are able to study in our college preparatory program at the School. We have granted close to $50,000 in financial scholarship for this 2015-16 school year. We have been able to help many single mothers struggling to make ends meet. In order to receive the proper training students need to study 4 to 5 days a week at the school for 3 to 4 hours at a time. Tuition alone does not cover our full college preparatory program. We strongly believe all students should have the opportunity to study dance theatre in preparation for college and or a professional dance theatre career regardless of their family financial situation.
Minority Scholarship Program, Lakeshore Ballet Theatre provides financial aid to students of various ethnicity.
Boys Program, Lakeshore Ballet Theatre provides tuition-free ballet & jazz training for boys aged 12 to 19 to increase the number of well-trained American male Classical ballet & jazz dancers. There is a constant need for properly trained males in the professional dance world.
Prima Pointe Shoe Fund, Lakeshore Ballet Theatre helps families subsidize the high cost of pointe shoes for the School’s female students.
Wellness Program, Lakeshore Ballet Theatre believes strongly in educating & keeping young dancers physically fit and healthy with Pilates training, massage therapy, yoga study, injury prevention & nutrition education.
Physical Fitness Workshops in the Schools – With obesity rates rising in Adolescence our instructors reach out to local schools showing students ways to exercise other than traditional sports through various forms of dance & Pilates.
Homeschool Academy – Many students at LBT are homeschooled for a variety of reasons. Therefore, we offer high quality additional elective courses of study during the day to encourage socialization and bonding of peers. Additional courses of study for homeschool groups include Sports Conditioning, Anatomy, Writing Workshops, Musical Theatre, Art, Modern Etiquette/Life Skills as well as performing theatre reading programs in the local kindergarten & elementary schools.
